Grand Canyon National Park is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona, USA. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and a depth of over a mile (6,000 feet). There are several historical buildings located along the South Rim, Desert View Watch Tower, Hopi House and El Tovar Hotel. There are several viewing area along the south rim which include, Lipan Point, Desert View, Grand View and Morain Point. One is also able to view the canyon from the air by boarding helicopters and small airplanes in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
We visited here in 1995, June 1998, and July 2014.
