GLEN CANYON NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area encompasses the area around Lake Powell and lower Cataract Canyon in Utah and Arizona, USA.  The current Lake Powell lies above Glen Canyon, which was flooded by the Glen Canyon Dam, completed in 1966.  The Dam is 710 feet high from the crest to the foundations and has a crest length of 1,560 feet.  The area also administers Rainbow Bridge National Momument, described as the world's highest natural bridge with a span of 234 feet and a height of 42 feet.
