YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Yosemite National Park is a national park which covers 761,268 acres.  It is one of the largest and least fragmented areas in the Sierra Nevada.  Yosemite Valley represents only one percent of the park area and Tunnel View is the first view of the Valley for many people. El Capitan, a prominent granite cliff that looms over Yosemite Valley, is a popular rock climbing destinations. Granite domes ,Sentinel Dome 3,000 feet high and Half Dome 4,800 feet high rise above the valley floor.
Yosemite falls is the highest waterfall in North America, it has a total height of 2,425 feet from the top of the upper falls to the base of the lower falls and is the Sixth tallest in the world.  The Yosemite Valley Chapel was built in 1879

We visited here in May 1997, June 1998, July 2003 and August 2014.
